Michael Scott Cortinez
Michael Scott Cortinez
May 8, 1969 - October 30, 2009

Michael Scott Cortinez, the youngest son of Kay and Bob Cortinez, passed away in the early morning hours on Friday October 30, 2009, as a result of injuries received in an accident nineteen years ago. "Scotty" as he was known by his family and friends, was born on May 8, 1969, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He will always be 21 in our hearts and minds.

Scotty was predeceased by his sister Cheryl Cortinez. He is survived by his son, Andrew Cody Cortinez , his brother Robert Cortinez and wife Elizabeth, his sister Donna Cortinez, nieces Courtny Hartstein McGarrah, Sarah Ferguson, and Carly Cortinez, nephews Trey Cortinez, and Caleb Cortinez, great-nieces Abby, Emma and Lilly McGarrah all of Little Rock, his Grandmother Bonnie Heinrichs of Fayetteville, his aunts Mim Heinrichs of Fayetteville and Tricia Spione of Little Rock, and his uncle Stan Cortinez of Shreveport, as well as his parents, Bob and Kay.

Throughout his life, Scotty bubbled over with a curiosity for all things and a love for adventure. He was the youngest of four children and he adored, and was adored by, his brother and sisters. He loved motorcycles, the outdoors and the special and lasting friendships that he had made during his brief time with us. He dearly loved all his family and friends but his special loves were for Jamie Harvey and their son, Andrew Cody Cortinez.

The family wishes to say a special thank you to the staff of Willow Court at the Arkansas Health Center who took such loving care of him these many years. The family will be at the home of his parents to receive visitors who wish to honor his memory and celebrate his life on Thursday, November 5th, from 5:00 p. to 8:00 p.m. We invite Scotty’s friends, and our friends, to reminisce and reflect on Scotty’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity in the name of Michael Scott Cortinez.
