I am truly sorry to hear about your loss. Your family has been on my mind ever since I heard the horrible news. I have been praying that God gives your family the strength to get through this incredibly tough situation. Take one day (or, one hour) at a time--that's sometimes all you can do. John was a great friend and a terribly fun guy to be around. I wil always remember him joking with me during rehearsals. He used to goad me into doing a "King Ralph" impression on the piano..even during services. I will also remember the myriad of Hawaiian shirts he always wore..I'm not sure I ever saw the same one twice. He will be missed. He was irreplaceable.

Today's service was such a wonderful tribute to John. I met John the first few weeks I was in the real estate business thiry years ago (we were incredibly young).John has always been such a good friend to all of us and always a great source of help. He had such a wealth of knowledge and always available to share that expertise with that great smile on his face.He will be greatly missed by all of us. you know the first time I remember meeting John was when I was in 6th grade. He let worship at our camping trip that year. That night he taught us one of the best songs I've ever heard "Mr. Postman." I was looking forward to serving with him again when I moved back home, but now I'll just have to wait a little longer. Praying for you all, -Justin Adams

Treva, Johanna, Jay, and Carla, We are so sorry for your loss. John accomplished so much in his personal, professional and spiritual life, and earned the admiration of so many. Attending a P.A. home basketball game just won't be the same without John behind the mic. Though our hearts are heavy, we know that John has touched the face of God, and that his presence on earth was a job-well-done.

Treva and Family, I am so very sorry for your loss and was deeply saddened when I heard of John's untimely death. I will always remember him singing in the choir, having fun at the choir retreats with Mesko, and hanging out with yall at community group gatherings when my parents were in yall's group. There will forever be an empty spot on stage without him playing the guitar. I will always remember and especially treasure him singing "The Wedding Pledge" at my wedding. May God wrap his arms around you and remind you of the many special memories yall made with John. Sincerely, Kami Rowland

To Treva and the children. I knew John from our football days at Henderson Jr. High as teammates, and from our baseball days. I always had a tremendous amount of respect for John and the quality person he was. I read in the paper where John gave countless hours of service at Fellowship Bible Church. It is good to know that he had a personal relationship with God and his Son, Jesus Christ. May this loving God bless you all in your time of sorrow and may you find peace in knowing that John is in a much better place now. Kindest regards, Jim Blankenship

Several things I know about my friend, John : 1) there was a massive celebration in Heaven when he arrived,2) John could hit a baseball and a golf ball farther than most,3) John could play the guitar better than most,4) John was a true servant-leader and 5) John left a great legacy in his family. The Walton family joins the Sawatski's in this loss, but we take comfort in knowing John is in the arms of the Lord.

What a shock to us all. John blessed us all in our service at church by playing the guitar. He was the real example of what a Christian husband, father and friend is supposed to model. I told him more than once I could remember being with my dad as a little kid and getting his dad's autograph in the original Bush stadium. There's no doubt in my mind where John is now. May God bless.

Treva, Larry and I are so sorry about John. It's such a shock. I saw him not too long ago, and we talked for a few minutes. He caught me up on you, the girls and Jay. We have been attending Fellowship for a while now, and I would see him playing his guitar most Sundays. You and he were always so good to us and to Luke, and I have never forgotten it. I plan to be at the visitation, and I know Luke will be too if he doesn't have to go out of town for work. I'd like to put my arms around you and hug you. I pray and I know that the Lord will help you and your sweet children through this. God bless you, honey.

My deepest sympathy is extended to John's wife, children, family and church family. I remembered John from high school. While we only knew one another well enough to wave and say "hi" at Fellowship where I began attending in early 2006, John's greeting and his regular presence on stage at worship always provided one of the warm touches that helped me know that I was home. He will be missed by many.

I will miss John. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. John was a great appraiser and, more importantly, an outstanding man. I often sought him out for guidance and counsel. I enjoyed his sense of humor and his wit. Our conversations would frequently lead to baseball. He loved to talk about baseball and his son, Jay. He loved his family and it showed. The world will be a smaller place without him, but heaven is such a better place with him.

Treva and Sawatski Family.....it was a shock of sadness to learn about John. Our friendship was built around the music we shared, with Among Friends and at Encounter at Fellowship. The day we drove to Memphis together to purchase guitars was a highlight because we got to spend about six hours together, just talking like guys, and finding out how much we really have in common. John was a very talented leader in every way and his ideas were always solid and his manner gentle, but clear. I join you in missing him very much....knowing that he is smiling at all of this and probably making a wise crack!
