Verlon "PoPo" Hillis Farmer

June 23, 1926 - July 30, 2018

Verlon ''PoPo'' Hillis Farmer, 92, of Greenbrier, AR, went to be with the Lord Monday, July 30, 2018. He was born June 23, 1926 in Mt. Vernon, AR to the late Samuel and Ethel (Stone) Farmer. Verlon was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin, Doyne and Cartha Lee Farmer and his grandson, Rusty Lewis.

Verlon was a faithful member of the Coppers Springs Baptist Church in Guy. He devoted his life to his family and the Lord. Verlon enjoyed deer hunting, riding four wheelers, camping and playing with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Verlon was loved very much by his friends and family, who will dearly miss his words of wisdom.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving family, his wife of 67 years, Martha Sue (Lasley) Farmer, his 4 daughters, Carol Maxwell, Diane (James) Bradshaw, Debra (Dudley) Henry and Valerie Lewis; grandchildren, Kim, Kenneth, Amanda, Michael, Shayla, Paige and Samantha; 11 great-grandchildren, sister, Wanda (Joe) Jones, and 3 nephews.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Copperas Springs Baptist Church in Guy with visitation one-hour prior, interment to follow at Copperas Springs Cemetery.

So sorry to here of your loss, My Mom (Martha) and I are thinking of your family at this time . I was just thinking recently of Verlon and my Dad and all of us kids .picking up rocks to put on they muddy when we were neighbors.

So sorry to hear about Verlon passing. I remember him as "Mertz". Such a long time ago...

I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Farmer. He was a very loved man and I feel blessed to have known him. I’ll miss kissing him on top of the head and him telling me he hoped I didn’t have lipstick on. Mrs. Farmer I know you will miss him. I love you and miss you. Hugs and prayers to all the family. 💕
