Rickey Loyd McGinty

of Greenbrier, AR

October 31, 1951 - June 5, 2018

Rickey Loyd McGinty, 66, of Greenbrier, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, June 5th, 2018 after a 10-year battle with Multiple Myeloma cancer.

He was born October 31st, 1951 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Loyd John McGinty and Benoni Weaver McGinty. He attended The Church Alive in Conway, Arkansas and had an unwavering faith in God.
Owner of Rick McGinty Company, Inc., he specialized in airfield lighting, working on runways all over Arkansas. He considered his greatest blessings to be his large and growing family, while his generous way of living blessed most everyone he knew. He loved to be surrounded by his babies, both big and small; and looked forward to get-togethers with his nine brothers and sisters and their families. He was such a good man, and the amount of love that has been poured out in the wake of his passing is evident of that.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Benoni McGinty; sister and brother-in-law, Charlie and Maudie Wilkins; brother-in-law, Wallace Bonner; nephews, Ronnie Lynn McGinty and Joseph Guy Jones; and great nephew, Bryson Williams.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sherry Vandament McGinty; children, Amanda Odom (Joshua), David McGinty (Krystil), and JoBeth Taylor (Josh); grandchildren, Hannah and Caleb Odom, Rubee, Jocee, and Baylee McGinty, and Wayne, Jacob, and Isaac Taylor; siblings, Aline Jones (Roger), Glenda Bonner, Peggy Hixson (James), JoAnn Meachum (David), Ron McGinty (Judy), Nancy Ringgold (Lary), Randy McGinty (Diane), Sandy Williams (John), and a host of nieces and nephews.

Our deepest appreciation and gratitude to the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Infusion 4 for their compassion, love, and care. Also, thank you to the Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy and Dr. Fritzs Van Rhee.

A celebration of Rick's life will be at 11 am, Friday, June 8th in Conway at The Church Alive with Pastor Randy Long officiating. Visitation will precede the service at 10 am. Interment will be in McGintytown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick's nephews: Jonathan Jones, Brian Meachum, Brad Meachum, Brent Meachum, Michael McGinty, Gary Ringgold, Chris McGinty, Josh Williams, Chris Vandament, Jeff Vandament, Joseph Ticer, and Jared Ticer.

We will always cherish the love, prayers, and support that has been expressed to our family.

So sorry to hear that Rickey has passed away. I remember when he was born and we were living close to your family on Mrs Colliers Place near Conway. I didn't get to know Rickey but I do know this. Loyd and Benona raised a good bunch of kids. Lots of Love in that family. Peace and Love to the family. Lonnie

My heart goes out to all the family! Rick was a special man. He loved his family with everything in him. And he loved the Lord! I remember as a youth being over at the house with Amanda and he always made me feel like I was one of his kids. He made me feel special. If he made me feel that way, I can’t imagine how much more he made his own family feel! I know he will be missed here on this earth! Thankful that it is only for a little while before you will see him again! I hope to be able to be at the funeral but if I’m not able to, my heart is there with all of you!
Sincerely,
Love,
Sharla
