Laura Kaye Strope

of Greenbrier, AR

April 15, 1959 - October 13, 2016

Laura ''Lala'' Kaye Strope, age 57, of Greenbrier, (April 15, 1959-October 13, 2016) was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Lala made it her life's mission to make things better for every person and dog that crossed her path. She was filled with compassion and a desire to help others. She was able to further reach more in need when she proudly graduated from University of Central Arkansas in 1996. Throughout her career, she served the public as a State Police dispatcher, Social Worker, and established the local branch of CASA. In addition to her career, Lala was always giving her time, energy, and wholehearted efforts to local charities and shelters, and she had a passion for rescuing dogs.

Of all her accomplishments, Lala's greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family, friends and fur babies. She had a unique gift to recognize and appreciate the talents in others and to make them feel loved and lifted by her presence. Her creative mind, kind heart and brilliant smile allowed her to touch the lives of everyone around her. Her generous heart filled her home with love, fun, family and friends, including an attitude that there was always room for one more.

In her free time Lala loved to be outdoors. She was an avid outdoors woman with an adventurous spirit. She had a deep love for camping, fishing, floating and went as often as she could. Always bringing with her that infectious smile, her unending adventurous spirit, and her Uncle Elmer suitcase.

Laura Kaye Strope is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Betty Brannon; brother Paul Brannon. She is survived by her husband and the love of her life, Michael Strope; daughter Stacey (Shane) Brown; granddaughter Taylor Brown; sister Karen Morrell; brother Mike (Nancy) Brannon; brother Richard (Randi) Brannon; brother James Brannon; brother Joe (Tanya) Brannon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lala's life will be celebrated on Friday, October 21, 2016. Visitation will be at 12pm and service to immediately follow at 1pm at Roller-McNutt Funeral home in Greenbrier, Arkansas. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Flippin, Arkansas on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 12pm.

Mike and family - you all are constantly in our prayers through this tough time. Laura was such a sweet person and I always enjoyed her sneaking in to say hello when she came to bring you a Sonic drink! She LOVED being "Lala" and told me many wonderful stories of the children and her dogs. She had a fun personality and loved to make people smile and laugh. I know she told me a million times how much she loved seeing Jolie Kate and the little one you'll kept a few nights a week! Praying for Gods comfort that only he can provide during this time.

Laura was a seasoned caseworker when I was a new caseworker for DCFS. She was a mentor for me who I looked up to during that time. She always had a smile and positive energy when I saw her, even years later. I am so sorry for your loss. I know she will be missed by all that knew her.

Mike and Family...
I don't have the words Mike. What a terrible tragedy and I am so sorry for you and your entire family. I only met Laura a half a dozen times but she was such a sweetheart. Always smiling and a dog lover like myself. What a beautiful angel she will make. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. God help you thru this horrible time Mike.
All my love,
Koni
