Jean Torrey Humphrey, 88, of Greenbrier went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 8, 2016. She was born Friday, September 30, 1927 in San Dimas, California to Kenneth and Sarah Ida Thorpe Torrey. Jean was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to cook and sew, but her family was her pride and joy. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greenbrier.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert L. Humphrey and sister Ruth Groendyke.
Survivors include her sons Robert L. Humphrey II and wife Norma Jo of Guy, Richard L. Humphrey of Guy, grandchildren Christopher Humphrey and wife Stephanie, Melody Olson, Andrew Humphrey, Ryan Humphrey, great grandchildren Heather Addison, Bailey Brown, Alexandria Olson, Braden Olson and Breana Olson, special friends Joyce Pate and husband Charles of Guy and Sue Springer of Guy along with a host of extended family and friends.
A celebration of Jeans life will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Jean was certainly a special lady. She was always smiling. So sorry for the family's loss of this sweet lady. She and your Dad were some of my favorite customers.

Jean was like another mom to us "Miller kids" when we were growing up. I will always remember the love, kindness and assistance they gave to my mom during various times of need in her life. True friends. That's what your parents were to my parents. I sure loved your mom and I will miss her. My deepest sympathies to you all.
