Willene Yant, 79, of Greenbrier passed from this life on Sunday, November 8, 2015. She was born May 14, 1936 in Shelbyville, AR to the late George Van Shaver and Ruthel Milligan Shaver. She was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Yant.
Willene worked for the V.A. Credit Union for over 23 years before retiring. She loved taking care of her flowers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an honorary granny to everyone.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Landon Yant; a daughter, Marilyn Haygood (Billy) of Arkadelphia; a daughter-in-law, Stephanie Yant of Benton; a brother, Robert Van Shaver; five grandchildren, Megan Sherwood (Brandon), Katie McKinney (Spencer), B.J. Haygood (Kim), Cameron Haygood, and Brandon Yant; and six great grandsons.
A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Greenbrier First United Methodist Church. Interment to follow at Cadron Valley Cemetery in Greenbrier. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Landon and the family as they face this difficult time. Willene was such a joy to be around. She always made us laugh. She will be missed by all who knew her.

I have known Willene and Landon since 1962 and have been friends since. I was totally shocked when Landon called and told me that Willene had passed away. I will totally will miss talking to her on the telephone laughing and trying to keep up with what is going on with our family. She will be truly missed by all that knew her and loved her. Landon the pain will be lessen as the years go by but the memories you greatly cherish will always be there. My prayers for the Yant family that God will wrap his arms around you and give you the strength and endurance during this difficult time. My love for you Willene is going with you.

Aunt Willene was a treasure to our entire family! I loved visiting with her. I am very grateful that I got to have a lovely conversation with her just hours before she passed. My love to Uncle Landon and those who were closest to her. She will surely be missed!!
