Henry Leon Patterson, 81, of Greenbrier, went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 15, 2015. He was born August 16, 1933 in Quitman to the late Andrew Jackson Patterson and Louella ''Ellie'' Harris Patterson. Leon was also preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Gene Patterson.
Henry served his country as a Master Sargent in the United States Air Force and was of the Baptist faith. He was a graduate of Greenbrier High School and employed as Maintenance Supervisor at Petit Jean Vo-Tech. Leon also attended Queen's College in Oxford, England. He loved farming and working with equipment, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Leon was a very honest man who had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Leon will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Henry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jean Ann Bellinger Patterson, his children, Deborah Lena Patterson Stephens and husband John of Guy, Colin Lee Patterson and wife Jerry of Batesville, and Andrew Joseph Patterson of Wooster, brother, Joe Patterson of Conway, sisters, Maedean Deremer and husband Herb of Kansas City, KS, Hilda Higgs, Lena Martin, Marilyn Battles and husband Ted all of Greenbrier, grandchildren, Ashley Nichole Stephens French and husband Jessy of Conway, Kevin Michael Stephens and wife Amy of Guy, Natalie Nicole Patterson, and Grant Palmer Patterson both of Batesville, great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Stephens of Guy, Braydon Sineath of Japan, Kayla Lynn Williams, and Emily Christine French both of Conway, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Springhill Baptist Church, with Bro. Freddie Mark Wilcox officiating. Burial will follow at Copperas Springs Cemetery in Guy. Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Bristol, Erby Foster, Jessy French, Gary Wilson, Keith Watkins, Terry Mack Howard, Larry Martin, and Richard Rothwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Battles, Chris Walter, Kevin Stephens, Grant Patterson, Tommy Browning, and Braydon Sineath. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Tsuda and staff and Dr. Dobbs. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

Mr Patterson was like a father to me and I think I'm a better person because I knew him. His friendliness and humour were extraordinary. Our condolences to the Patterson family.
What a wonderful man. He always made you feel welcome at his home, and you couldn't have a conversation with him without smiling and laughing. My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.

Aunt Jean and Andrew,
It was so nice to get to see Uncle Leon a couple weeks back. We had the nicest visit and I got more than a few hugs and kisses in. I'll miss him more than I can say. I love you all and I'll be there in spirit and praying for everyone.
