To David's Family - I am so sorry for your loss and my heart breaks for you. I knew David through AGFC and I thought the world of him . He will be missed very much.
Earth holds no sorrows that Heaven cannot heal.
My your precious memories of your husband and father comfort you in the days ahead.
Was shocked and saddened to hear of David's untimely passing. He will be greatly missed. It always brightened my day when the phone rang and it was David on the other end. Although we had met earlier, I didn't really get to know him until we worked together (him at AGFC and me at the DOT) to get the correct decision made that removed the proposed bridge off Big Island. He was a great guy and a pleasure to know and work with. He will be sorely missed.
Wendy, We are so sorry for your loss. Our hearts go out to you and your family at this difficult time. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. God bless.
Only met David once, at NCTC. He was quick to laugh and easy to talk to. Thoughts and prayers to the family - so sorry for your loss.
I did not know David but grew up with and was a neighbor to his father Dale while attending school at Bradford. My wife and I wish to extend our condolences to his family and friends.
May God Bless.
James(Bud) and Maxine McPherson
David lived just a few blocks from us in Arlington, VA, and I got to know him through my work at US Fish and Wildlife Service. I felt I really could connect with David, a kindred spirit of sorts, dynamic, inquisitive and outgoing. My wife and I took him out for dinner and it was such a pleasure to enjoy his lively company. In a short time the three of us were friends and we were planning to spend more time together. His loss is immeasurable.
To David's Family,
I send my sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers during this trying time. David was in a senior play my first year teaching at Bradford. He was a good young man then, and from the messages I've read had turned into a great husband and father and worker. I've read articles in the newspaper with his work particularly with bears. .
To my good friend and college classmate, we sure had fun during school days. You are truely missed. Your friend,
Jim Sikes
.... remembering David's life today and praying for the Lord to bring His presence in such a close way through this trial.
Wendy, Megan, Mattie, & Ethan,
Our hearts were broken when we heard the news of David. He was such a wonderful man! We know God will see you all through this difficult time. We pray that you will find comfort in the great memories you have of him, knowing that he is with our Lord. We are lifting you all up in prayer.
Love you all - Josh, Danna, Briar Poirot & Clay Spadoni
Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
My heart goes out to you and the children, Wendy. I have known David for many years, and he was a unique person and a good man, in every respect. He was dedicated to our shared conservation mission, and the world is a better place for his efforts. For example, it's many years ago now and many people probably aren't even aware, but there is no bridge across Big Island thanks to David's leadership and efforts. And that is only one example of the tangible legacy of conservation that he has left to the world. But, to his great credit, David also knew how to have fun, and he knew how to balance his work life with his family and personal life. My mind still can't accept that he is gone, He will be missed by many.
We only got 4mos of David up here in Northern VA, but it might as well have been 10yrs. The man packed a lot of punch! He brought tireless dedication to redefining the organization's structure and mission and was truly a breath of fresh air, particularly in his frank and open disbursal of information. A real communicator that will be missed sorely by everyone in WSFR. And an all-around great guy outside of work too. We can only imagine what ya'll must be feeling, but please note how profoundly David's energy was felt up here in his brief time with us. I'm proud and touched to have worked with him.
I knew David from AGFC. He was always a very pleasent and friendly man. I pray that God keeps his sweet family in his care through this difficult time.
It was an honor and a privildge to have work with and for David. He was a dedicated father, husband, friend and colleague. It was always a treat to hear him speak of his family and his endearment for Arkansas. Although his working at the Fish and Wildliife Service was but a brief moment, it felt like it was a lifetime of knowing him. He so easily gave council and comfort in some of my darkest days and to countless of other who work here. He would always ask how my days was for most of his time at FWS, my husband was deployed. I will miss our morning conversations, when we would speak of family, food and a bit of sports or even what his schedule was going to be like or what I may assist with.
To Wendy, the children and the rest of David's family, we pray that God comforts and hold you all dear to HIs heart as you are in your darkest hours of loss. Cry when you need to and laugh because you will have to. Find joy and smile with the tender, plentiful memories that you all have shared.
God bless you All.
Curtis, Andriea and CJ
My wife Tammy and I were deeply saddened by your loss. I have been privileged to call David a friend for almost 25 years, having first met him through our work with black bears, and continuing our friendship while working together on MS Flyway Council activities. He was a dedicated conservationist and family man, and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
David was a good friend to me fore many years. We worked on the River Valley Nature Center project together as several other topics through the years. He will be missed. My prayers for his family and loved ones.
I worked with David here at US Fish & Wildlife Service and he was a very pleasant, positive man who could get things done. I send my deepest sympathy and prayers for strength to the Family. RIP David.
I only knew David for a short time, about a month actually. I am saddened by the fact that I did not get a chance to know him better. Being on temporary assignment here in the Arlington area I was working for David and his team. He knew he was going to be away for a couple weeks and that I was stuck here in a hotel, and even though David had just meant me, he offered me the use of his truck and apartment while he would be away. I did not take him up on his kind and generous offer, but I had a new found respect for humanity. I knew then, that David was one of those rare individuals who would not only give you the shirt off his back if you needed, but he would do so if he thought it would just make your day a little better. He was a very kind and giving soul, the world will be a much sadder place without him. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family and friends, may God reach out to you and comfort you in this time of sorrow and need.
Such a tragic loss. David was a good man. We will be keeping the family in our prayers.
I recently met David at the States Organization for Boating Access (SOBA) conference in North Little Rock.
Although my time working with him was very short, he made a memorable impression on me and other conference attendees. I appreciated his enthusiasm and energetic approach to work together on boating issues.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this unfortunate time.
Wendy & Family - I had the pleasure of working with David years ago with the Game & Fish Commission. Always a gentleman, bright and caring. God gives us memories and my prayer is they will sustain you all throughout this precious time. Becki Rush
I've met Mr. Goad in our recent workshop in Seattle two weeks ago. The way he talks and his passion for his job, I can tell he was a good man. We really lost a great leader that had vision, wisdom and charm!! He really had a nice path laid out for WSFR, and he had life's priorities all aligned!
My thoughts and prayers are with the family. May David rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Mark Newcastle
USFWS/Co-worker

My heart is certainly broken not only for the lost of a co-worker and an instant friend but for the lost that David's family are without any doubt feeling. My prayers are with David and his family at this moment. We will miss you!
David's legacy is the work he did for the natural resources of Arkansas, the U.S and throughout North America. It was my privilege to work with him and my honor to call him my friend. I knew David through our work with the Association or Fish and Wildlife Agencies, Mississippi Flyway Council and most recently the revision of the North American Waterfowl Management Plan. He loved his family and never missed a chance to express his pride in each member. My thoughts and prayers are with them. May God bless you and may knowing so many of us share the burden of your loss lighten it somewhat.
I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I met David at the National Conservation Leadership training and will miss his wit and wisdom.
We are so sorry about your loss. May God grant all of you peace and comfort during this time.
Much love,
Trinity, Lea Anne, Dalton, Ian, Megan and Colin Smith
I knew David through interactions of the Southeast Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. He was a great leader, and dedicated his life to natural resource management. From Texas, our prayers go out to the family, now, and in the days ahead.
I was fortunate to work with David at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He had a great impact on the people in this organization in the short period of 4 months that he was with us. I counted him as a good friend as well as a dedicated co-worker. He is sorely missed here.
Our sincerest sympathy to the family and friends of David from the staff and management of Wildwood Park Apartments.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your sweet family.
I only had the pleasure of working with David the last half year at FWS, but really enjoyed it. David was a fun guy to talk to and a real professional. He will be missed. Our family's thoughts are with him.
My deepest sympathies at the untimely loss of David. We spent a lot of time working together back when he was doing wildlife work at Ft. Chaffee and the related Nature Center planning there in the 90's. He did a lot of work for the benefit of AR black bears before moving on to the Little Rock AGFC office. I know he loved what he did and got to see and do many things that most of us only dream of doing. He will be missed by many, especially in the wildlife conservation community.
Cindy, my heart breaks for you and all of David's family. You will be in my prayers.
David was a good friend and colleague for over 25 years. I recently talked with him not too long ago over the phone. I would have had a much different conversation with him had I known I would never speak with him again. He had a wit about him and could put things into perspective more than most people you meet in life. He was a true conservationist that had a grasp of the big picture on what needed to be done to make a difference in wildlife management and conservation. I will remember him and his spirit.
Rest in peace my friend. I will cherish all of our outdoor experiences together. I will be praying for your entire family during this time of suffering.
What a tragic loss, not only to David's family, but to wildlife conservation in AR as well. David took Clay and a few of his students on one of his bear radio transmitter tracking field trips and you have never seen such excited kids. David's gift was his heartfelt message of conservation and his ability to help other appreciate his message. We will miss him greatly, Clay & Betty
David was so great to work with when planning the Nature Center in Fort Smith. His dedication to wildlife management was obvious in all he did. The Western Arkansas Nature Center Partners share in the grief over the loss of such a fine man. May God's peace be with the family.
It is a day of great sadness for everyone who knew David. Wendy,my heart is heavy with sadness for you and the children. Know I am there for you and the kids anytime you need me. Love Always.
We are so sorry for your loss.
We only met for a brief moment, but your impact will be felt for a lifetime. Thanks for caring and may your family find solace in this dark hour.
The thoughts and prayers of my family are with you.

It is with great sadness that I learned of David's untimely passing. The conservation community in Arkansas is a small closely knit group of people dedicated to natural resource protection. David's loss is felt by every one of them. He was a fine biologist and talented administrator. More than that, he was a friend and colleague for over 25 years. I will miss him. Farewell, my friend.
Our deepest sympathy for David's family. He will be greatly missed. We have many fond memories when he lived in Bradford. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Wendy, Megan, Mattie, and Ethan,
I am so heartbroken over your loss. David was a wonderful friend and colleague, and I will miss him dearly. He was dedicated to mission of conservation and took very seriously God's commandment to be a good steward of the resource. Evertime I saw David, we shared stories of our families. It was obvious that he loved each of you dearly and truly wanted to be a good husband and father. He would simply glow as he told me of your accomplishments. He also loved God, and I know that we will all see him again one day.
Your family will remain in my prayers as you face the days ahead. May God's strength and peace which surpasses all of our understanding, comfort and guide you, now and always.
Our heartfelt sympathy to Wendy. the children, and all who loved David. May God heal your broken hearts and grant you peace and comfort.

David was a great friend and colleague. He will be missed.
We are so very sorry for your loss. You are a strong woman Wendy and I know God will give you the strength to get you and your family through this rough time. Praying for you all.
As a fellow Arkansan ( Wilmot) and former Fish and Wildlife Service family member, I was shocked and saddened to hear about David's death. While here in the Washington, D. C. area, he always greeted me with a smile and with pride as he talked about Arkansas. I wish Wendy and the family well and know that although you may face hardships and uncertainties, there is a way through and a brighter day ahead.
Remember that you are braver than you believe and stronger than you think. Cry when you must and laugh when you can. But know that you are a deserving person to have beautiful and bright life after David. This message will come from a person that lost her husband at an early age, too and know that both of our husbands would want it that way.
