Roger Kissinger, 82, of Greenbrier, formerly of Pocola, OK, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2012. Born in Columbus, OH on September 2, 1929, he was a son to Alvin and Emma Juilerate Kissinger. Mr. Kissinger was a retired Army veteran, having served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. After retiring from military service, he served as a correctional guard at several prisons in Michigan and after moving to Arkansas he worked for Baldor Electric for fourteen years. Mr. Kissinger loved being with his family and he was an avid model train enthusiast. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents and three bothers: Paul, Roland and his twin brother Richard.
Mr. Kissinger is survived by his son, John Kissinger and wife Linda of Ohio; daughter, Sara Fulmer and husband Cody of Greenbrier; four grandchildren, Levi and Dani Fulmer, Jeff and wife Christine Kissinger and Jason Kissinger; two great grandchildren, Gianna and Addison Kissinger and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, August 6, at Fort Smith National Cemetery. Visitation is from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 5, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. In lieu of flowers memorials may be may to The Wounded Warrior Project.
