Clara Cornell Ellzey Reynolds

of Conway, AR

October 2, 1915 - July 15, 2018

Clara Cornell Ellzey Reynolds of Conway departed this earthly life on July 15, 2018 at the age of 102. She was born in Wooster, Arkansas on October 2, 1915 to Clint and Arlie Mae Ellzey. Known as ''Kern'' to most of her family and friends, a nickname given to her by her father, she lived most of her life in Faulkner County. She attended Greenbrier High School, where she enjoyed playing basketball and running track.

Cornell was a soft spoken, gentle Christian woman. Coming from a big family, she loved family get-togethers. When family and friends were together, it was cause for celebration. She often entertained her own children with stories of her youthful adventures with her brothers and sisters.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Stanley Clark Reynolds, two brothers: Tremont and Clinton ''Hop'' Ellzey, four sisters: Sybil Wilcox, Inza Clifton, Mary Jo Nixon, and Bonnie Loveless, and sons-in-law Bill Cochran and Earl McGehee, Jr.

She is survived by one brother, Bill Ellzey of Conway, four daughters, Nina McGehee and Pam (Larry) Stroud also of Conway, Jennie (Jim) Benton and Debbie Cochran of Jacksonville, six grandchildren: Lea Ann (Sam) Smith of Conway, Christina McGehee of Little Rock, Alyssa (Charrell) Ivy of Bentonville, Andy Cochran of Pilot Point, Texas, Clay (Erin) Cochran and Lori (Will) Piper of North Little Rock, nine great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Cornell loved the Lord and she loved her church family: Northside Church of Christ of Conway. She was faithful and blessed to attend services there well into her late 90's. Many of her church family brightened her days at home and at Heritage Living Center with visits, songs and love.

The family offers special thanks and gratitude to Valerie Williams, who provided transportation to church services for several years. The family also offers thanks to the personnel and staff of Heritage Living Center as well as to Kindred Hospice Care for the tender loving care they gave ''Miss Clara'' during her stay there.

Funeral Service will be 1:00PM Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with Visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery.

This sweet lady is going to be missed so much. My Grandmother shared the room with her at the Nursing Home. I just loved seeing her smile when I would go see my grandmother. ❤

Loved your mother very much. I know she is in the arms of the Lord and having a great time with her reunion with her family and friends who are there. She lived a very long life. She will be missed by my mother, myself and Debra, my niece. Hopefully mother will be able to get as loving a roommate as Mrs. Reynolds. I know mother will miss her very much.
