Gladys Slawson Nester, 82, a long time resident of Conway, currently residing with family in Monroe, LA. went to be with the Lord Friday, May 18, 2018. She was born February 19, 1936 in Carolton, MS. to the late Melvyn and Alice Slawson. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D. Nester, her daughter Cheryl Ruminer, her son in law Gary Ruminer , brother Jim Slawson, and her sister Ella Lee Robertson.

Gladys was a faithful member of the Second Baptist Church of Conway. She devoted her life to her family and friends. She enjoyed entertaining, cooking, sewing and gardening. Gladys was loved very much by her friends and family, who will dearly miss her beautiful smile, her sense of humor and contagious laughter, her positive attitude and her ability to seek out joy and share it with everyone who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving grandson Mark Ruminer, her brothers John Slawson (Emma Lee), Billy Slawson (Faye), her sisters Pauline Mullins (Donny), Alice ''Cookie'' Sainz (Andy) and a host of friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1:00p.m. with visitation one hour prior on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, with interment to follow at
Crestlawn Memorial Park.
