Joseph Winfred Phillips III

of Conway, AR

December 7, 1965 - May 16, 2018

Joseph (Joe) Winfred Phillips III passed away May 16, 2018 in Conway, Arkansas from complications associated with a recent illness. He was born December 7, 1965 in Dallas, Texas to Joseph Winfred Phillips, Jr and Linda Elaine Aldridge Phillips and was preceded by both his parents in death. He was married to Connie Phillips, of Conway, Arkansas for 32 years and was a father to Brandy James Swanson, of Conway, Arkansas and Jennifer James White of Centerton, Arkansas. His grandsons William Randal Gordon, Jr, Joshua James White (whose death preceded Joe's in November of 2017), Matthew Drake Bradford and Parker Niel Swanson each held a special place in Joe's heart and life. Joe was brother to JoLynn Phillips DeLosSantos of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Amanda Phillips Cole of Clearwater, Florida.

Joe was the owner of Psycho Ink Tattoos in Conway and a founding member of the Arkansas Body Modification Association which is devoted to the enforcement of high industry standards and committed to health and safety education regarding body modification for the public and state government. Joe also established an apprenticeship program at Psycho Ink Tattoos to teach and mentor young tattooists. He cared deeply about his community and was involved personally and as a business owner in causes that were important to him such as ArkanPaws Animal Rescue, Bethlehem House, and various other charities in partnership with his motorcycle club brothers.

Joe's early years in Dallas left him with a love for all things Texan and a heart as big as the state. He loved his English Bulldog, Harley, hunting and taking cross country motorcycle trips with his friends. He was a man of self-determination and integrity. His quick departure from this world has left a hole in the hearts of so many. He will be sorely missed by his immediate family, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, hunting buddies, employees, colleagues and friends.

Visitation with Joe's family will be at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home at 650 Central Landing Blvd on Monday, May 21, 2018 from 6pm-8pm. The celebration of his life will take place at Roller McNutt on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 3pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Joe's name to ArkanPaws Animal Rescue P.O. Box 1592 Conway, AR 72033.

Jennifer, I am so very sorry for you and your family’s loss. It was abundantly clear the love he had for you and Josh when he would visit the hospital. He was a compassionate being and I know he will be missed! You are in my thoughts and prayers!

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at John 5:28,29 Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice, and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment".
