Bill Pires, 84, died November 15, 2017 in Conway, AR. Bill was born in Falmouth, MA. on June 6, 1933 to Joseph V. Pires and Maria S. Pires. He attended public school in Falmouth, MA. Bill joined the U.S. Air Force shortly after graduating from New Bedford Finishing School. He was in the USAF from 1951 to 1955. During his career, he worked as a machinist for 32 years. He later began wood working and created beautiful custom home cabinets and furniture. Bill and Siv Pires were married in California on January 18, 1960.

Bill is survived by his wife, Siv and their children, Andy Pires of Tucson, AZ., Gunn Seroy (Greg) of Conway, AR and Diana Weidman (Rick) of Clearwater, KS; five grandchildren, Jennifer Ashford, Alex Pires, Alyssa Pires, Rick Weidman II and Garrett Weidman; six great grandchildren; Trin, Lana, Lyla and Brycen Ashford, Brayden and Brody Weidman. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Joseph Pires, John Pires, Arnold Pires; two sisters, Alice Rapoza and Hilda Aton. Bill was a member of St. Mathews Lutheran Church in Conway.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank the residents and employees of Village Park for their friendship and their efforts to improve Bill's quality of life over the last couple of years. Bill will be remembered as a hardworking, straight talking and family focused man. He will be greatly missed by a devoted family and many dear friends whose lives he touched.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 900 Farris Road, Conway. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Matthews Lutheran Church or to Alzheimer's Arkansas.

To Siv, Andy and family,

Please accept my condolences on the passing of Uncle Bill. Sadly, I do not recall ever meeting him due to the divorce of my parents Elvida and Joe (Bill's brother).
