Harvey Dean Bailey, 81, passed away June 17, 2017 at his home in Conway, Arkansas. He was born July 10, 1935 in Oakland, Iowa, to the late Leon and Anna (Kearnes) Bailey.

As a 1954 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa, he was an active member of ROTC, serving on the Honor Guard for Vice President Richard M. Nixon. On March 7, 1961, he married the love of his life, Virginia (Roberson) Bailey in Omaha, Nebraska. Together, the couple raised 7 children, James, Ronald, Stephen, Kenneth, Sharon, Connie and Dean. Harvey worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 35 years, retiring in 1990 as a District Foreman. He was an active member in the Eastern Stars, Masons and Shriners, holding several positions of honor through many years. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, playing bridge, golfing and traveling.

In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Bailey; grandsons, Eric Bauman, Jonathan Stanton, and Weston Bailey; Sister-in-law, Eugenia Roberson; nephew, Thomas Marsh; and great-nephew Devin Sutton.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 56 years, Vinnie Virginia Bailey, of Conway; children James (Tracey) Stanton of Ammon, Idaho; Ronald (Sue) Bailey of Omaha, Nebraska; Stephen (Patricia) Stanton of Conway; Kenneth (Holly) Stanton of Yermo, California; Sharon (Greg) Bauman of Pocatello, Idaho; Connie (Steven) Wondel of Las Vegas, Nevada; Dean (Vikki) Bailey of Kuna, Idaho, 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and special Niece, Eileen (Ron) Sutton of Odebolt, Iowa.

Memorial Service will be 3:00pm Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home Conway, Arkansas.
