Hetty Jewel (Peel) Moffet, 96, formerly of Mountain View, passed on to the Lord's care on Tuesday, January 17. Born in Faulkner County on October 22, 1920, she lived most of her life in Conway and Mountain View. For the past year, she resided at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield, Illinois.
Hetty was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Moffet; her parents, Oscar and Ruth Peel; five sisters, Odell Hutchins, Orene Goff, Emma Clarke, Bonnie Connell, and Patty Pearson.
She is survived by one daughter, Jamye Moffet (Butch) Joyner of Springfield, Illinois; two grandsons, Rob (Kim) Joyner of Rockvale, TN, and Corky (Kelly) Joyner of Springfield IL; and three great- grandchildren, Claude, Blake, and Courtney. Hetty was a devout Christian and active member of the First United Methodist Church of Mountain View. She was a 50-year member of the United Methodist Women and the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles, and she loved to talk! She never met a stranger and always had a joke to tell. But, her greatest joy by far was her family. You never came to her house without seeing pictures (or a video) of ''her kids'' That beautiful smile will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be 4-6 PM on Friday, January 20 and funeral services at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 21. Both at Roller/McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Burial will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the First United Methodist Church of Mountain View, 209 Church St., Mountain View, AR 72560

My brothers and I got to know Hetty when my Dad moved to Lewis Memorial. We loved her! I am traveling to Illinois next week, and was looking forward to seeing Hetty. My condolences to the family. She was a special lady. I will miss helping with her lunch and dinner orders.

A dear friend of my mothers. A very gentle lady. She will be missed by all.
My sincere sympathy to you in the loss of your precious Mother. I have many fond memories of visiting with Mrs. Moffet in her home and Mountain View. I was just asking about her a week ago. She was always so pleasant and had a story to tell about her family. May your wonderful memories see you through the coming days.

My condolences to the family. May fond memories comfort you at this time.
