Marjorie Young age 97 of Conway Arkansas died Friday September 16, 2016.
She was born June 6, 1919 in Vernon, Alabama to Albert Leon and Dara Merle Young.
She grew up in Cleveland Mississippi where she graduated from Cleveland High School.
She graduated from Delta State University in 1937 where her father was a psychology professor.
She taught school in Gunnison and Centerville Mississippi.
During World War II she served in the American Red Cross in Daytona Beach Florida.
She received her master's degree in social work from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio.
She worked in social work at the Veterans Administration hospitals in Cincinnati, Kansas City and retired as chief of Social Services at the Alexandria Louisiana Veterans Administration Medical Center.
She is survived by a brother, Albert Leon Young Jr. of Conway Arkansas, two nephews Albert Leon Young III (Kathy) of Huntsville Alabama, James Daniel Young (Becca) of Indianapolis Indiana and a niece Amy Young Ellenburg (Roger) of Conway Arkansas.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday September 24, 2016 at the Senatobia Memorial Cemetery in Senatobia Mississippi.
