of Vilonia, AR
February 29, 1932 - June 29, 2007
Gene W. Crawford, 75, died June 29, 2007, in the home of caregivers Patrick and Susan Dickens of Greenbrier.
Born in Missouri on February 28, 1932, Gene and his beloved wife, Shirley (Duvall) Crawford, lived in Vilonia, Arkansas, more than 30 years. With the help of friends, they built a house on a lovely hill and shared a happy life with dogs Jake and Gracie.
Gene was a heavy equipment operator and loved hunting and being outdoors.
When Gene developed Alzheimer's, Hospice Home Care helped with his care, and aide Lucille Nolen was an ''angel in disguise'' to him and Shirley.
Gene will be greatly missed. ''All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field…. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.''
(Isaiah 40:6,8)
