Howard Wane Halmes, 83 of Hartman, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 in Fort Smith. Mr. Halmes was born October 22, 1932 in Ozark to Mr. Fuller and Euna Mae (Chandler) Halmes. Howard served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed playing cards, and hunting. He was a truck driver, school bus driver, and a cattle farmer. Mr. Halmes is preceded in death by his parents, all of his brothers and sisters, one nephew; and his wife Katherine Ann Halmes.
Mr. Halmes is survived by two nieces, Karen Nordin of Clarksville, and Christy Halmes of Colorado; three nephews, Larry Blackard of Hartman, Joe Halmes, and David Halmes both of Ozark; one niece in law, Sarah Halmes of Ozark; along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Jackson Cemetery with Yvonne Case officiating.

I have a lot of memories of Howard that I will not forget. His laughter and smiles will be one in my heart forever. May God Bless you all and help you in times like these. May heart goes out to you all.

He was a Wonderful man. He always had a smile and was the best bus driver !!!
