James T. ''Doodle'' Howell Sr., 77, of Alexander, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017. He was born January 28, 1940 to the late Layton Howell and Elizabeth Turley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Howell and three brothers, Billy Earl, Bobby Jean, and Charles Howell.
Survivors include three sons, James T. Howell Jr. (Debi) of Haskell, Layton A. Howell of Benton, and Grady W. Howell (Stephanie) of Benton; one sister, Joyce Hamilton (Wayne) of Benton; three brothers, Roscoe Turley of Little Rock, Roy Turley of Little Rock, and Raymond ''Peewee'' Turley of Rogers; eleven grandchildren, Danielle, Kaitlyn, Hunter, Arianna, Jullian, Riley, Kimberly, McKenzie, William, Gavin, and Michael; three great-grandchildren, Maddi Jean, Haley, and Cooper; his hunting buddy, Jerry Thompson; and his best friend, Mrs. Kobb.
Doodle worked as a Millright at the Armstrong Rubber Company for many years. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge #743, the Eastern Star, and the Atkins-Wagnon Hunting Club. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved spending his time hunting and fishing.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2017 at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander with Bro. Jim Gardner officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Brian Fewell, Hunter Howell, William Espey, Bud Hamilton, Kyle Hamilton, and Danny Walker. The Atkins-Wagnon Hunting Club will be serving as honorary pallbearers. Jr. pallbearers are Gavin Howell and Michael Espey.
A visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017 in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home(315-4047) in Benton.

There are no magic words to easy the pain. However if just for a split second picture your parents face as they see each other. The happiness they are sharing I hope lessens your grief a bit.
