Forrest (Bill) William Hood Sr., 90, of Bryant, Arkansas, passed away Thursday September 21, 2017. He was born January 15, 1927 in Waveland, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Artie and Mildred Rogers Hood; brother, Doyle Hood; and step-grandson, Jeffery Hardin.
Bill was a veteran of WWII where he served in the Navy. He loved hunting and camping, and loved working outside in his sheds. He was a truck driver for a total of 35 years and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Kindrex Hood; three children, Bill Hood (Sherry) of Bryant, and Patricia Glover (Walter) and Linda Toler (Jim) of Benton; four step-children, Glenda Turner (Kenneth) of Ashland, TN, Judy Goodman (Cletis) of Rockford, IL, Cindy Anderson (Troy) of Mountain Home, AR, and Robert Hurley (Gina) of Benton; and his brother Jerry Hood (Marie) of Roland, AR. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Stacey, Dustin, Travis, Jennifer, David, Tina, and Wesley; five step-grandchildren, David, Jason, Tiffany, Brandy, and Jonathan; twenty-one great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 25, at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Alexander, AR
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening, September 24, in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047).

When I first met Bill 3 years ago, I immediately loved him. He was such a sweet, kind, man and I feel so incredibly honored to have met him & to have been able to be apart of his life, even if we didn’t see each other all the time. His stories could have you laughing and when he talked about the things he loved, his eyes lit up with happiness and his face was full of joy. I loved Bill and am so happy and blessed that I got to know him. Thank you for all the laughs and hugs.

I had the privilege of meeting Bill two years ago, A wonderful man. He was funny he had so much character in him. He had so many stories that he had to share. They were entertaining, educational and I am so thankful that my youngest daughter Tiffany and my oldest granddaughter Ashley and my youngest granddaughter Addison got to meet him as a part of our family. Even though I only knew him for a very small amount of time I am honored to have known him .

I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. Hood’s passing. Loosing a loved one is never easy. I lost my dad in 2010, and my mom in 2012. After my losses, reading Revelation 21:3,4 gave me real comfort. It says: And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. I hope reading these verses also give you comfort during this difficult time. GW
