George Franklin Neal, 83, of Benton died Sunday, February 19, 2017. He was born March 2, 1933 in Benton to the late George and Mildred Horton Brotherton Neal. He was retired and was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Neal, one brother, Doc Neal and one sister, Bertha Potter.

He is survived by his wife, Francis Townley Neal of Benton; son, Willie Neal of Benton and daughter, Georgie Izeta Vallejos of Barstow, CA; brothers, Sam Neal of Bryant and Dotsie Neal of Benton; sister, Mary Ragan of Hot Springs, AR; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2017 in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047) with Jerry Garrett officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Sparkman, AR. Serving as pallbearers are Jacob Neal, Bryan Neal, Michael Morgan, Blake Morgan, Adam Holdman, Jason Brotherton, and Bud Rowland.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, February 22nd at the funeral home.
