Patricia Ann Holicer

of Benton, AR

July 23, 1932 - February 20, 2017

Patricia Ann Holicer, age 84, of the Point View community, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on February 20, 2017. She was born July 23, 1932. She was a member of Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley Wayne Holicer, of 67 years; raised four amazing children, Regina (Jim) Burks , Tim (Sheila) Holicer, Amy (Larry) Whitfield of the Point View community, and Paula (Dan) Hooks of Slovak, AR. She helped raise nine grandchildren, Michael (Sonya) Burks, Rodney (Jullie) Burks, Jacob (Sara) Burks, Luke (LeAnn) Hooks, Ben Hooks, Ethan (Sady) Holicer, Clay Holicer, Emily (Joe) Peters, and Heather (Trevor) DeLaney; 14 great-grandchildren, and countless more people she adopted as her own. She is also survived by her loving sister Shirley (Dub) Cooper of Glen Rose; sisters-in-law, Dorcas Holicer and Bonnie Hoffman, and numerous family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Minnie and Clemmie Keisler; mother and father-in-law, Chester and Alva Holicer.

Memorials may be made to Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church, 928 Traskwood Road, Malvern, AR 72104.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening, February 23, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. with funeral services Friday, February 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton officiated by Bro. Tony Williams. Interment will follow at Ten Mile Cemetery. Pallbearers are Michael Burks, Rodney Burks, Jacob Burks, Luke Hooks, Ben Hooks, Ethan Holicer, Clay Holicer, Emily Whitfield Peters, and Heather Whitfield Delaney.

She was known as Mama Pat by many. She was a loving and kind person who always liked to share her Christ-like values. She made everyone that came to her home feel like a member of her family. Some of her grandchildren's best memories were of her making sure they were raised in church and portrayed the love of Christ to others. She also taught them how to shoot the basketball. A grandson recalls enjoying Mama Pat recapping his Friday night football games, looking at her March Madness bracket, and making a group of rodeo friends feel welcome in her home. Another grandchild commented, When so many friends and family came to visit, the love they felt was nothing new in Papa Stanley and Mama Pat's home.

Patricia graduated valedictorian from Glen Rose School in 1950 where she was a star basketball player. She remained a staunch supporter, and number one fan of the Glen Rose Beavers.

Poppa Stan and the family, we were truly sad to lose Momma Pat. We are so happy that she has won the victory in her face and singing the Paises of her Lord. She was so special to our family from Playing basketball with Aunt Bonnie Jean to the prayer partner and meals & pie s she'd bake for Skeeter when he was going through his medical issues. She gave everyone that knew and loved her many precious memories. We will continue to lift the family up in prayer now and in the days ahead.

So sorry for us and so happy for her. She was a special lady and will be missed by all who knew her. Like losing a family member; having gone to school with Regina and Paula and watching Tim and Amy grow up. Pat and Stanley and my father and other family members went to school together. It just won't be the same without her. May God Bless and Comfort you during this sad time.

Pat and I were friends when we were young mothers, and what a pleasure to be around one so warm, kind, and sincere. From what I have seen that others have written, she remained that way all of her life. I do sympathize with her family and friends, for this is such a great loss.

We are deeply sadden to hear of the passing of "Momma Pat" but are thrilled for her in knowing she is in the presence of her Lord and Savior. When we moved here she took us in like we were her children and then when we had Austin and Mallory Grace she held them like they were her babies. Never will there be another quite like her. We are blessed beyond measure to have known her and "Poppa" and will cherish every memory of her love and support of our family. Our thoughts and so many prayers go to her amazing family during this time. May the Lord wrap his arms around you all and may you find peace in his love.
We love you dearly.
