Virginia Dabney Hill

of Benton, AR

November 8, 1957 - February 10, 2017

Virginia Dabney Hill was born November 8, 1957 in Helena, Arkansas. She was the fourth child of Dr. William K. Hill and his wife Elizabeth Ann Hill. Both parents were proud Mississippians and both graduated from Ole Miss University in Oxford, Mississippi.

Dabney was a precocious child. She was a good student and had a special interest in and love of animals. She received her undergraduate veterinary prerequisites at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas and UALR in Little Rock, Arkansas. She began her veterinary training some 38 years ago. Unfortunately, her training and career were cut short by a major illness.

Over the next 37 years of her life, she resided and was cared for in numerous chronic care facilities. Her last residence was at Arkansas Health Center in Benton, Arkansas on Pine Court. Her caregivers there did a wonderful job taking care of her. Glay Jones was her roommate and friend at AHC for the last 23 years. We are very thankful for Glay and the staff.

Dabney took her last breath on February 10, 2017. She will be remembered for her zest for eating, her favorite drink, raspberry tea, her wonderful smile, her hearty laugh and her keen sense of humor.

Dabney is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Ann Hill of Elaine, Arkansas, her sister, Dr. Sally H. Bullock of Franklin, Tennessee, and her brother, Dr. Edward B. Hill of Benton, Arkansas and nieces, nephews, and cousins. We hope and pray that her broken body will be replaced by a new one and with a pair of angel's wings so that she will be able to soar and delight in the beauty of Heaven from above.

A Memorial Service will be held February 17th at Arkansas Health Center in Benton, Arkansas located at 6701 US-67 in Benton at 9:00 A.M. in the activity room at the main building. The burial service will be February 17th in Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee located at 824 S. Dudley St. in Memphis at 3 P.M.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your dear loved one. Please accept my condolences at this painful time. Losing a loved one is distressing and as comfort is needed from family and friends, we have assurance from the Bible that "death will be swallowed up forever" at Isaiah 25:8. It is my hope your family will find strength to endure during the days ahead.
