I served in the Army.
Harry Clinton Crawford Jr.

of Hot Springs National Park, AR

July 19, 1935 - February 4, 2017

Harry Clinton Crawford, Jr. of Hot Springs, AR went home to Jesus on February 4th as the result of a massive stroke suffered February 1st, 2017. He had been in a convalescent home since 2015 due to an initial stroke.

He was born July 19, 1935 in Little Rock, AR, to Eudean and Harry Crawford, Sr., the older of two sons.

He was a loving husband, father, a true patriot and he brought out the best in everyone he knew. He served 22 years in regular Army and National Guard and worked for Lockheed Aircraft in California for 35 years. He retired in 1990 from both and still missed them greatly.

He was a Master MacGyver when it came to figuring out how to make something out of nothing. He could construct anything he set his mind to and make it work. His was a logical and brilliant mind. It would be hard to find a more honest man with as much integrity and honor as he.

He had lots of acquaintances but very few he called friend. He was very selective about who he gave that title to, so if you were one, you were very special.

He married his childhood sweetheart after being apart 15 years and in all the years they were married, they never had an argument. They traveled the U.S., Canada, and Mexico mostly by motorcycle, making many wonderful memories. He was his wife's biggest supporter and hardest critic of her artwork. No one was prouder than he.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Sammie Crawford, a son Larry Crawford, daughter-in-law Dana and granddaughter Lenore of Oklahoma City plus many more grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Services will be at 1st Christian Church, 1806 Central Ave., Hot Springs, AR, on Friday, February 10th, 2017 at 1 p.m. followed by burial at Smith-Rosemont Cemetery in Benton, AR with military honors.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.

Services provided by Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047).

Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers as you journey through the next few days. We will always remember Harry with a smile on his face, and picture him on the bike or in his boat. You two are a great love story...faith, hope, and love...yours was the greatest of these.
