Wm. Dorcie Chastain, age 84, of Benton passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012. He was born July 25, 1927 in Stamps, Arkansas to the late William Jasper Chastain and the late Polly Leona Chastain.
Mr. Chastain was a member of First Baptist Church in Benton where he was a member of the sanctuary choir for fifteen years. He also served as a former choir director of Galilee Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas for a number of years. Mr. Chastain was a retired electrician from Monsanto Chemical in El Dorado and Alcoa in Benton, totaling forty years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Chastain of Benton; one daughter, Brenda Womack and husband Richard of Benton; two grandchildren, Richard Womack and wife Brandi of Arkadelphia and Brian Womack and wife Kristi of Abilene, TX; eleven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047) with Dr. Rick Grant officiating. There will be a 3:00 p.m. graveside committal service Saturday at Oak Grove Cemetery, located near Stamps, AR. Pallbearers are Slade Perkison, Lane Perkison, Richard McGuire, Troy Baxley, Charles Randall Young, and Charles David Young.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, April 20th at the funeral home.
