Mae worked at Flintrock Shirt Factory for many years and was a cook at the Marshall Senior Citizen Center until her retirement in 1998. Mae was a Christian and attended church her whole life. Mae loved to cook and was famous for her homemade lemon, chocolate, and coconut cream pies. When she wasn't cooking, she enjoyed eating her favorite son-in-law's cooking. Mae enjoyed watching deer and squirrel playing in her yard and watching flowers bloom, especially her pink tulips. In recent years she spent time watching baseball and softball games on TV, working Sudoku puzzles, and joking with Ray. She looked forward to family get-togethers and especially watching her great-grandchildren play. ''Nanny'' will be missed by all of them.
Mae is preceded in death by her husband, W.C., her parents, 4 brothers, and a sister.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Ray Barnes of Marshall; a grandson, Jimmy (and Aneilya) Barnes of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; 2 granddaughters, Susan (and Malcolm) Smith of Conway, and Jennifer (and Andy) Bixler of Harrison; and 4 great-grandchildren, Noah and Aaron Smith and Ethan and Makayla Bixler.
