I have so many wonderful memories of my time growing up and going to Monkey Run School. We would stop at the store and get a treat once in a while and Ms Leona and Ms Alma was always there so beautiful and so kind, they made you fee special just because. They didnt need a reason. God bless her family you were truly blessed to have this lady in your life.
We want to send our thoughts and prayers to each one of you during this sad time. Pinkston Family.
Sorry for your loss. Ms.Cheek always had a smile and nice things to say when we got a chance to visit.
Dear Bob: Was sorry to her of the passing of your wife. Please accept our sincere condolences. Thoughts and prayers are sent to you and your family.
My deepest sympathy.
Our Prayers are with you all.
I knew Leona when she was young, mainly from visiting church with Ralph and Ora McCracken and their daughter
Shirley. Shirley and I would sit on the bench in front of Leona, Mary Ann, and Mary Mooney if we could in order to enjoy their beautiful singing. She leaves many pleasant memories in the community.
Leona and I go back to when we were 6 years old. Her Dad was my First and Second Grade school teacher at the Old Bodenhammer School. The girls would come up there with him,and Leona and I would play together and I remember the Christmas plays we had,and exchanged presents.Of course she went to Monkey Run School.
Of course I later married into the family, and our kids went to school together. Ben J. and Mariona were in the same grade, and so many good times we had over at Uncle Herbert and Esta Mae's house up through the years.
She was a Very Very Good Friend in so many ways.
My Love to all the Family

My sympathy to the whole family. So many of my childhood memories include Leona and her sisters and going to church at Pilgrim's Rest. We had such a good time getting to sing with the sisters. Leona and Mary Ann would take me home with them many Sunday afternoons and let me play with their makeup and look through their collections and pictures in "the store." Leona was a very special one-of-a-kind lady who was a great role model for me. I pray that the Lord will comfort you in your time of loss.
Sorry we could not make the service.
To Mrs. Cheek’s family,
Though you understandably feel sadness now because the life of your precious wife and mother has been taken away from you, God gives you a reason for happiness ... a basis for comfort and endurance. Our heavenly Father does not leave you to grieve without the glorious hope found at John 3:16. I hope this will bring you a measure of peace.
Praying for your family.
Our thoughts are with you, Bob, on the loss of a wonderful woman from a fine family.
Sorry for your loss Bob. She is in a better place. We're praying for you & your family.
Dear Bobbie and family,
Our sympathies to all of you on the passing of Leona.

Red so sorry for your loss. What a sweet lady Leona was. I never knew her when she was young but sure enjoyed her in her later life. What a joy! Prayers to you.

I was sorry to hear of Leona's death. I have many happy childhood memories of her, Mary Ann, and Alma (I never really got to know Alpha) when we shopped at the Four Sisters' Store (and they helped me pick out books to read) and the times they substituted for Mrs. Sharp at the one-room school, then later at Cotter school. She and her sisters were always big supporters of all the sports, 4-H, and other activities we "Monkey Run kids" were involved in. My sympathy to her family and friends. I know this is a difficult time, but also know you will share many happy memories of times shared through the years.
Our love and prayers, to you Bob and family
