Lillian W. Holcomb

Graveside services will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, May 17,2012 at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway, Arkansas, for 94 year old Billy Jack (Mercer Lillian) Whayne Holcomb. She was born February 24, 1918 to Robert C. and Phena Ball Whayne in Bentonville, Arkansas, where she married Warren G. Holcomb in 1946. She worked as a House Mother at Arkansas Children’s Colony in Conway and was a seamstress all of her life, as well as a baby sitter for many families throughout the years. She was also a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, mother and father, a brother Robert C. Whayne Jr. and a sister Jane Cameron.
She is survived by a son, Larry J. Holcomb & Colleen of Elgin, OK, a daughter, Janie R. Hickman & Bill of Stuttgart, AR, her grandchildren, Ryan W. & Tonya Holcomb of Bentonville, AR, Robert (Bobby) C. Holcomb & Candace Chang of Bentonville, a Step Grandson Brent Beeson of Elgin, OK, Will & Christy Hickman, Elizabeth Flake & Marshall Barnes, and Ray Hickman & Amy Jo Ferguson of Stuttgart, AR, Piper & Jude Ault of Adona, AR and Whitney & Greg Tibbett of Minden, LA and 8 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many friends and her church family in Poteau, OK.
