Thurman Thompson, Sr. died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at his home in Brookland. Mr. Thompson was born June 5, 1936, in Harrisburg, to the late Jessie T. and Juanita Ray Thompson.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jeannie Smith; and a sister, Kari Sartain.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home; two sons, Thurman Thompson, Jr. of Brookland and Dale Thompson of Jonesboro; two daughters, Debbie Albert and Donna Luster both of Jonesboro; one sister, Michelle Chaprelle of Harrisburg; two brothers, W.L. Thompson of Brookland and Don Thompson of Pahokee, FL; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Services will be at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral home, 1900 West Washington Avenue, Tuesday at 10:00am with Rex Howell and Herbert Lynn officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dalton Thompson, Josh Thompson, Brandon Luster, Derrick Luster, Mark Hathcoat and Jason Albert. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Roger Baker, Dr. William Sawyer, Keith Rubottom, Joel Grimes, Jerry Grimes, Phillip Wheaton, Dr. Lee Cranfill and Dr. J. Cranfill. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 5:00 – 8:00pm.
