Mrs. Lillie Hazel Matlock

Lillie H. Matlock, age 92, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Bristol Pointe Nursing Home in Harrison. She was born December 17, 1919, in Holton, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Grace (Mitchell) Edwards.
Along with her parents, Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Matlock; her daughter, Grace Ann Watson; two infant sons; a great-grandson; four brothers; and four sisters.

Ms. Lillie was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Omaha, where she was also a prior resident. She married Hugh Matlock October 3, 1936, in Harrison and they were married 60 years prior to his death. She served her church in many areas from teaching Sunday school for several years to serving as church treasurer for many years.

Lillie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney Matlock of New Orleans, Louisiana, Gary and Jane Matlock of Omaha, and Clifton and Nancy Matlock of Lebanon, Missouri; her son-in-law, Roy Watson, of Harrison; her sister, Lea Smith, of Riverside, California; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and two on the way; five step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other family and many dear friends.

Services were Monday, May 7, 2012, at New Hope Baptist Church in Omaha, Arkansas with Rev. Freddie Blevins and Bro. Mark Holmes officiating.

Visitation was at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home on Sunday, May 6.

Burial was at New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Lillie's grandsons, David, Russell, Dustin, Brad & Scot Matlock, Heath Yarger, Paul Green & Floyd Cheatum.

Honorary Pallbearers were Lillie's granddaughters, Sarah Yarger, Robyn Green, Kim Cheatum, & Jill Berry, as well as great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren
