Vida Hodges, age 83, of Jonesboro, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at her home. She was born January 20, 1929 at Cord, AR to Elmer and Ovie Joe Shreve Latting. Mrs. Hodges worked for Ramada Inn and retired from the David Puryear Center. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and loved quilting, bowling, reading, gardening and flowers.
Vida was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Edgar A. Hodges; two sons, Alan and James Hodges; a daughter, Laverne Ward; two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters, Edgar A. Hodges, Jr. of the Philippines, Eddie A. (Susie) Hodges of Lowry City, MO, and Verl D. (Patricia K.) Hodges of Jonesboro, Mary L. Herring and Linda (Freddy) Foreman all of Jonesboro; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and three sisters, Ottie Venable, Pat Graham, Reda Butler.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Tuesday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 W. Washington Avenue in Jonesboro.
Funeral Services will be 10 am Wednesday at the funeral home with Wynndel King officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Michael Rupard, Jimmy Rupard, Dub Hudson, James Watkins, Kevin Ward and Tim Elhe.
