James Wesley Whitehurst

James Wesley Whitehurst, 72, of Sherwood went to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 1, 2009. He was born on October 2, 1937 at Batesville, Arkansas, to Myrtle May Richardson Whitehurst and Yarnell Delaney Whitehurst, Sr. He attended Draughons School of Business and was owner of Whitehurst Bros Construction Company, Inc. He was a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church and was a Gideon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors, but most of all his life was about serving his Lord and being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Whitehurst.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Ann O’Neal Whitehurst; two daughters, Robin Long and her husband Ron of Sherwood and Lisa LeMay and her husband Mike of Beebe; four grandchildren, Josh Long and his fiancée Ashley Imhoff of Sherwood, Shana Long-Settle and husband Zach of North Little Rock and Baylee LeMay and Makenzie Lemay, both of Beebe; four brothers, Y. D. Whitehurst, Jr. and wife Nell of Melbourne, Wendell Whitehurst and wife Martha of Little Rock, Harmon Whitehurst and wife Mildred of Jonesboro; and Burnell Holcombe of Richland, Washington. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

The funeral service will be at 12:00 Noon, Friday, November 6, 2009 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel (501)224-8300 with Dr. Paul Sanders officiating.
Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
