James Edward Dunavant, Jr.

James Edward Dunavant, Jr., 62, of Little Rock died Sunday, November 1, 2009. He was born January 8, 1947 at Memphis, Tennessee and grew up in Forrest City. He was an employee of the Arkansas Department of Health. He loved all types of music, especially Blues and also loved to tell stories that made people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ruby Lee Lofton Dunavant and James Edward Dunavant, Sr., and his brother, Jimmy Forrest Dunavant.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Rose Dunavant; two nieces, Heather Dunavant of Little Rock and Carrie Bass of Tyler, Texas; two nephews, Lance Dunavant of Little Rock and Jonathan Scott of Austin, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Mabel Maxwell of Benton and Carol Scott of Tyler, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Parkway Place Baptist Church with Reverend Allan R. Greer officiating. Graveside service will be at 4:00 p.m at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City.
