Iva Elizabeth Childs

Iva Elizabeth Childs, age 77, died Friday at her home in Searcy. She was born August 15, 1928 in Elaine, Arkansas to David Kimball Demaree and Iva Elizabeth (Raines) Demaree. She was a member of Valley Baptist Church in Searcy. She is survived by three children, David Leo Childs (Sheryl) of Benton, Charlotte Ann Davis (Marshall) of Cabot, Michael Eugene Childs (Diane) of Farmington, New Mexico; one sister, Olive Skogland (Eddie) of Helena; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; six nieces; and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Leo Childs; her parents, David and Iva Demaree; two brothers, W.D. Demaree, Edward Demaree, and three sisters, Ida Mae Demaree, Charlotte D. Wilson, and Mary Johnson. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy. Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Valley Baptist Church in Searcy with a graveside service at 4:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in West Helena. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Valley Baptist Church Building Fund (Searcy) or the American Cancer Society.
