June 25, 1920 - February 26, 2016
Ina Lily "Penny" Stowe Buck, 95, formerly of Belcherville, Texas, went to be with the good Lord on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Greenbrier Nursing Home in Greenbrier, Arkansas. She died of old age and natural causes.
Lily was born in Belcherville, Texas on June 25, 1920, to the late George and Sudie Reeves Stowe. She had one older brother, the late George Clifford Stowe. She always told stories of the old Belcherville schoolhouse and how she could outrun all the boys. She wasn't scared of much-she faced life's challenges head on and with much determination. She was as smart as a whip, and you couldn't get much past her. She often told stories of her mother taking in many school friends after school each day. The friends would come by on a cold day to get warm by the wood stove and have a bite to eat. Their home was just across the way from the schoolhouse and it was a little trek every day. During World War II, NaNa went to work in New York for the telephone company. She spoke of city life and how it made her appreciate the country life so much more. Lily married Bernice Walls Buck, on March 5, 1948 at the home of Clifford and Johnnye Stowe in Bonita, Texas. Lily loved oil painting and in her later years looking at old pictures and talking about what was going on in them. She was a member of Ole South Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernice Walls Buck; a son, Michael Thomas Buck; and her brother.
She is survived by her son, Donald Roger Buck and his wife, Glenda Lea of Romance, Arkansas; grandchildren, April Buck Nix, Don Buck, Jr., Amber Buck Mauldin and Crystal Buck Holley; April married Joshua Hal Nix and gave her two great-grandchildren, Joshua Stone Nix and Stetson Kort Nix; Don, Jr. married Heather Avaritt and gave her Emma Faith Buck, Kaci Don Buck, Haven Elise Buck and Jesse Walls Buck; Amber married Justin Mauldin and gave her Daniel Ray Mauldin, Carter Jace Mauldin and Will Cooper Mauldin; Crystal married Brandon Holley and gave her Ashlyn Brooke Holley and Judson Lee Holley.

I first met this wonderful lady when she came to the nursing home. I looked forward to the visits & the Sunday morning church service. It was a pleasure to get to know her. Her smile would light up the room. We will miss her at the church services. I know from talking with her that she loved her family. There is a wonderful place prepared for her.
