Debbie, Jered, and Blake,

Chip was a warm, caring, gentle and generous man who gave so much of himself to others. However, it was his family that held the place of most importance in his heart. He spoke often of his deep love and admiration for his family, especially for the love of his life, his partner and best friend Debbie.

Although words can’t possibly begin to ease the loss you feel, know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of so many who love and care for you. We pray that God supplies strength, peace and comfort to you during this time.

We are keeping all of you close in our thoughts and prayers.

Much love,

Kelly and Mike

Debbie and family, I was heart broken to hear of your loss. Chipper and I were friends and neighbors during our Jr. and Sr. High years. Many fond memories. He had a special heart and was not surprised that he chose a career with children. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Debbie & Family, I am so sorry to hear about Chip passing. He & I were great friends in high school in Lexington, Ky. We spent many hours talking, laughing & eating together whenever we could. Us Creekers (Tates Creek High school) had a special bond and I'm grateful that he was my friend. I was very sorry our families were unable to connect because your sons and ours could of had a great time together. I'll always remember him catching the garter at my wedding in 1977. He was surprised he caught it and looked at me like "now what". The Lord knew the answer to that because he found you Debbie. May God give you all strength and peace during this difficult time. He was a great friend to me & it sounds like he was still the same! Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers!!

I am sincerely saddened by the loss of Mr. Parks. He was such a kind person. His soft spoken demeanor and big heart welcomed my son and our family with open arms to the Episcopal Collegiate family. He will definitely be missed by my son Khi and the rest of our family.

May God ease your pain and I pray that you find solace in remembering all of the lives that he touched.

Chip Parks was one of the kindest people I have ever had the chance to know. He was always thinking of others and was an inspirational teacher and mentor to both students and faculty. His loss will be deeply felt in the Episcopal Collegiate community. He was a true servant leader who showed God's love to every life that he touched.

My deepest condolences to Debbie, Jered, and Blake. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Mrs.Parks you and your family have been in our thoughts through this time in your life. We feel so blessed that all of our family have been touched by Mr.Parks. He helped Amir and I feel at ease with Alex heading into middle school. We felt like he was a guardian angel that middle school had been blessed with. He was a kind, sweet soul that I know our family will miss everyday. We feel so lucky that Mrs. Debbie was our teacher for Alex. We will always love you Mrs.Debbie. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Much Love,

Ms. Debbie and family, our family is deeply sorry for your tremendous loss.

We feel very fortunate that we had the chance to get to know you and Chip during your time at Episcopal.

Even on the tough days, Mr. Parks always had a smile on his face and a kind word for his students.

Ty had Mr. Parks as his advisor in Middle School, and what wonderful stories he told of the conversations those boys had with him, especially about sports! Many times I saw him watching his kids play sports and just taking it all in.

This summer, before Trey went into Middle School, we had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. Parks. He eased all the fears about "moving up" both for me and Trey.

That was just him, always there, always engaged, and always proud of the students he was growing up.

Debbie, we send our deepest condolences and please know how much we love you.

Mrs. Parks, Family, and Friends, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Parks was a wonderful teacher and adviser and I have very fond memories of him (@ GCS). I had no idea he was so close as I would have liked to have paid my respects in person. I know your hearts are broken and words will not help heal that right now. However, from the very recent loss of my brother, I can say that the knowledge that Mr. Parks has no more pain or afflictions and is home with our Heavenly Father. I pray that God give you peace. Again, my deepest condolences for your loss.

Chipper was one of the best teachers I ever had. We were blessed at GCS in those years of such a strong Christian faculty in the early 1980s. I will long remember that curly blond hair but more his patience in teaching us so well. I have said many times that his was one of the classes that I was proud to accomplish and he made us feel capable and successful. I remember his time he spent at our house with Paul, Steve and occasionally "Killer" Kilpatrick. They are some wonderful memories. I am saddened by his passing but feel sure there is a new member in Heaven. Rest in peace Chipper. Prayers to Debbie and the family.

Chip Parks made a difference.

He made it in the way he smiled at every child's face, as he met his or her eyes with his own – and he knew what was on their minds – and in their hearts, because he always asked; and he asked because he truly cared about their answers.

Chip was able to do all of that because he knew every child in his charge by sight, by voice, and by personality. That is dedication. That is special. That is Chip Parks. He made that kind of difference for our Conley and Anna, and for every other child of their generation who respected, loved, and knew Mr. Parks at Episcopal Collegiate School.

Debbie, we send our deepest condolences and heartfelt best from our family to yours.

Debbie, Jered, and Blake

I am deeply saddened by your loss.

I respected Chip for the great educator and mentor he was to both the students he guided through middle school years and the faculty he inspired to assist in this important task.

He was a patient leader, never willing to give up on any student. Chip's office door was always open for sharing a bit of advice or a friendly visit with a member of his faculty. But most of all, Chip was a loving person who saw the good in all those who were blessed with the opportunity to be one of his students or be part of his staff and faculty. What a great man.

I will miss my friend.

Peace and love.

I am so sorry for your loss. We never seem to have enough time with our loved ones. Jehovah hates death as recorded at 1 Corinthians 15:26. And as promised in Job 14:14-15 he will bring those back in his memory. May you have comfort from the scriptures in this hope. I found comfort from John 5:28-29 as something to read over and over.

Although I did not have the privilege of getting to know Mr. Parks personally, his warmth, character, and love for his students made a great impact on my daughter. She was deeply saddened by the lost but assured me that he was in a better place and that she will never forget his love for ECS and for the students. We will continue to pray for the family as you go through this difficult time.
