of Mountain View, AR
May 2, 1921 - February 12, 2013
Dorothy May Weigart Hinkle, 91, died peacefully at her home February 12, 2013. She was born May 2, 1921 at Ruddells, Arkansas, (Izard Co. ) to George Thurston Weigart and Myrtle Case Weigart.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, George Perry Weigart and Donald Case Weigart, her beloved sister, Virginia Weigart Mabry, and her devoted husband of 63 years, Kebel Wayne Hinkle.
Dorothy is survived by a son, George Wayne Hinkle (Henrietta Dee) of St. Louis, MO, two daughters Nancy Fowlkes (Whit) and Virginia Parsons (Roger) of Mountain View. Grandchildren are Karen Moellenhoff (Craig) of St. Louis, MO, Kevin Hinkle (Laurie) of Philadelphia, PA, Tyler Fowlkes (Jennifer) of Mountain View, AR, Anne Fowlkes Nowlin (James) of Memphis, TN, Tanner Parsons (Halley) of Rogers, AR and Craig Parsons of Fayetteville, AR. She is also survived by six great grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Charles A. Hinkle (Earlene) of Maumelle, AR.
She grew up in Batesville, Arkansas where her father was the manager of the Batesville White Lime Company. When in junior high, she moved with her mother and siblings to Mountain View. She graduated as salutatorian of her class at Mountain View High School. She attended Harding College for two years and taught fourth grade at Fifty Six and Mountain View, Arkansas.
Her goal in life was to be the best daughter, wife, and mother that she could be. She certainly achieved the goal. Years after her parents divorced, she provided a cottage for her dad to live in on the right side of her home and later provided a cottage on the left side of her home for her mother. Devoted to her husband, she rarely left his side. Surprising her husband and children, one of the rare times she was away from him was the day that she and her sister decided to ride the Bill Clinton campaign bus from Mountain View to Batesville! A delightful grandmother, she always welcomed her grandchildren and entertained them with nursery rhymes, games, and food. Many Thanksgivings were spent in her home with the best oyster dressing in the world. Her hobbies included cooking and canning, sewing Raggedy Ann dolls and antiquing with her sister. She and her sister looked forward to the County Fair every year where they entered their goods and won many ribbons. They were known around town as "The Good Lookers" to antique dealers as they looked a lot and rarely spent money! Every day at ten o' clock and two o'clock she enjoyed a Coca Cola. This was a lifelong tradition in her household. Each week she prepared a treat of soda and candy for her recyclers that picked up recycling at her home. She loved music and loved to laugh. She and grandson Kevin had a laughing routine that they performed at family gatherings. She loved the front porch swing where she sat with her husband and watched the traffic pass on Main Street. Her home on Main Street was a convenient place to stop and visit. She loved people and the simple ways of life.
She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She loved her church and spent countless hours there with her family. Saturdays were always days of hair washing and shoe polishing, getting her children ready for Sunday School. She also spent Saturdays washing her mother's crippled feet and changing her stockings so that she would be ready for Sunday School class. She served as communion steward and trustee for many years. Sunday was a day committed to the Lord and she made certain that her family carried out that commitment.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Ron Simpson, Lola Shannon, Dot West, Kim McKnight's Services for the Elderly staff, Stone County Hospice and Brenda Freeman for their loving care and service to her family.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 74, Mountain View, Arkansas or to your favorite charity.
Services for Mrs. Hinkle will take place on Saturday, February 16, 2013, 1:00PM at the First United Methodist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Rev. Ron Newberry and Rev. Jim Keith are officiating. Interment will take place at the Historic Cemetery of Mountain View.
Pallbearers are Craig Moellenhoff, Kevin Hinkle, Tyler Fowlkes, James Nowlin, Tanner Parsons, and Craig Parsons.
Dorothy was one of two wonderful Sisters-in-Laws that I was so lucky to have. I thank God for the opportunity to have had them both.
My love to all of those who knew and admired my cousin Dorothy as I did. Love, George Baxter Case

To the Hinkle family: So sorry for your loss. Reading the obituary brought back good memories of growing up in Mountain View and often seeing Dorothy on the front porch swing. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Dear Hinkle Family,
I will always cherish the memories of sitting on the porch swing, drinking bottled coke, looking through all of Dorothy"s treasures, listening to her tell stories and spending time with her wonderful family. I feel so blessed to have known her! I love and miss y'all!

Dear Hinkle family, I am so sorry about the death of Mrs. Dorothy May Hinkle. No, I did not know Dorothy May or her family, but being a follower of Jesus Christ, we extend love, care, and concern to all neighbors near and far. Very soon all pain, sickness and death will be no more....Revelation 21:4. But for those faithful and obedient to the Giver of life, will be the joy of eternal life and the reuniting of those asleep in the memorial tombs. John 5:28&29.
Words can't express our sadness at your loss. We are praying for the family at this time.
To the Hinkle family and friends. Death of a loved one is hard and never easy. But the Bible give comfort to the morning and depressed soul . Jehovah God said I-I myself am the One that is comforting you people. Isa. 51:12 So please find comfort from reading the cited scripture.
Mrs. Dorothy was such a special "Lady." Our thoughts and prayers are with your family as you mourn your loss and celebrate her "graduation" and "home-going." May God Bless You!
Virginia & Nancy & Family, so so sad to hear this. She was a great LADY. Our thoughts & prayers are with you all!
To the Hinkle Family, we are so sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow.
What a beautiful obituary to honor your dear Mother. She was a very special lady that was adored by this family and many others. May God's Grace and strength see you through the coming days as you begin to cherish the fond memories. You are all a tribute to the wonderful Mother you had and the upbringing she gave you.
Virginia, Nancy and family,
Jacob and I are so very sorry for your loss. We pray that God will wrap his loving, comforting arms around both of you and bless you during this sad time. May God bless you.
We are so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Hinkle was a beautiful person, inside and out. She and Mrs. Mabry always made sure you were welcomed when you came to church. Will be thinking of all her loving family during this time. May God be with you all, and give you the peace that I know she would want you to have.
To the Hinkle family. Death is very hard and it hurts very much. But the Bible offers comfort. Isaiah 66:13 says like a man whom his own mother keeps comforting, so I myself (Jehovah) shall keep comforting you people.
