Jack’s walk with our Lord was a testimony of his sincere and honoring affection to Jesus Christ. Jack will be missed on the Hams for Christ Radio Net where both hams and shortwave listeners alike, grew to love his humble spirit over the amateur radio band frequency.

My prayers go out to the family of Jack Oyler. I had the pleasure of meeting Jack when I worked for KWOZ in Batesville. He always had something to say and there was never a dull moment when Jack was around the station. I would have to get on to Jack for eating something he should not eat for his health. He would, and then would go and give himself an insulin shot.
Jack will be missed. He was a wonderful person. May God be with you during this difficult time.

My family's prayers go out to the Oyler family for your loss!! Jack was a super guy and I fondly remember my time working with him.

I met Jack in 1982 when I first went to work for Mountain View Broadcasting back in 1982. I was a young green part-time guy that Jack treated like an equal. He always made me feel like a friend and never like a kid.

Jack and I had a special relationship as he and I got into a battle of one-upsmanship. In other words he and I really enjoyed pulling pranks on each other.

Of course Jack started it!! He snuck in the station one night and walked right up behind me while I was deeply involved in paper work. He yelled the loudest "RAAARRRR" that I think I've ever heard. It scared me so badly that blood shot from my nose! Jack actually fell to the floor as he was laughing so hard!

Of course that meant "war"!!

On his next visit I super-salted his tea and he took a huge swig of tea only to return that tea to his big ol' giant cup. In a rather messy fashion!

I loved to recount to him the story of his successful pranks. His loud laughter was a joy to experience.

He actually put a lock gas cap on my truck and I only found out when I stopped to get gas, and I was on empty!

I got him back on a cold, cold, January night as he dropped by the station, real late, on the way back to Timbo.

While he made a "pit stop" I watered down a large rolled up mess of paper towels and went out to his van and slid that wet mess under his seat cover.

Two hours later he called me as he got home and all he said on the phone, in that cool southern drawl of his, was "Bee-un, it was a cooold ride home tonight. And I'm gonna git you boy!" Then he hung up.

(I found out later that his van heater wasn't working that night!)

It was always an adventure to find out what Jack had up his sleeve next. He kept me on my toes for sure!!

We finally called a truce after Jack hurt himself with a prank that went all wrong and told me "Boy, I think I'm gonna quit while I'm ahead and still alive!"

Our truce held from that day on! (dadgum it!)

I regret I didn't get to spend more time with him, he was always a delight to be around and a good friend.

I worked with Jack at AETN. I am the Inventory Specialist and I visited Jack at the site or I was calling him to find some equipment for me. He was always so helpful and you could tell he took pride in his work. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

Jack Oyler was one of the top transmitter engineers in the state. I met Jack back in 1982 at KAAB studios in Batesville and we had a friendship that began that day. Jack was a man of God and good character, which seems hard to find these days. When I purchased KFFB in 1998, I was glad he took us under his wing. He would truly rejoice with each improvement we made. Jack always had a good joke or jokes he would pull on all of us radio folks. Watching the faith of Jack and Jackie has been an inspiration to all through the years! I will miss the phone calls when Jack and I would talk about shop, and then the call would turn into a call between friends.

I met Jack while I worked at KAWW in Heber Springs in the late 80's. It was a different time of my life for sure as his family likely recalls. Due to an existing repeater being resited, my repeater became the first permanently coordinated system in Stone County, with his assistance. I so much appreciate the time and attention he willing gave to my repeater and others in Stone County.

Our friendship formed from that point on and had transcended the Amateur hobby we shared. I've even assisted him with one broadcast transmitter diagnostic, while he babtised me on the day of his son John's funeral, which I attended. During the service, the Spirit spoke to me to have him perform a babtism on me. Especially later that afternoon in such a time of grief, his willingness to be a good Servant of God was apparent as he saw the sincerity and realized the urgency in this. It is a day I will never forget, and I received a true blessing, with Jack being the gateway, the intermediary, the Instrument that God desires those who believe, to exercise for His Glory - In such manner as Jesus did for The Father.

Unfortunately, I cannot attend the memorial service due to my work duties in the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles, however, I plan on contacting the family later.

May Jesus shower you with His blessings, Jack.
I can correctly conclude you are reunited with family who passed before you, and are enjoying eternal happiness - as only Heaven can provide.

Someday we will again meet on the other side!
