December 27, 1923 - November 27, 2011
Mona "Marcelle" Crawford, age 87, of Harrison, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Hillcrest Home in Harrison. She was born on December 27, 1923, in Boone County, Arkansas, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Nixon) Inman. Along with her parents, Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her husband, L. H. Crawford, Jr.; and three sisters, Irma Adair, Etta Crawford, and Louise Inman.
Marcelle had lived in Boone County all her life. As a child she grew up on her family's farm at Lick Branch. The youngest of five sisters, she has many fond memories of growing up in the "Depression Years" of the 1930's. In 1942, she married L. H. Crawford. This is somewhat unusual, in that three Crawford brothers married three Inman sisters. L. H. and Marcelle started out their married life on a farm on Bear Creek. In the 1950's, they moved to Harrison and she devoted herself as a homemaker. Marcelle was a member of the Church of Christ. She loved her grandchildren, gardening, her flowers, especially her roses and being an alumni of Ridgeway School. She has remained a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Marcelle is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Jim Heuer, of Harrison; her sister, Jean Crawford, of Harrison; and her sister-in-law, Mildred Crawford, of Harrison.
Marcelle is also survived by her granddaughters and their spouses, Mary and Chris McNew of Harrison and Jennifer and Glen Curtis of Harrison; her great-grandchildren, James McNew, Kathryn McNew, Adam Curtis, Drew Curtis and Claire Curtis; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of many dear friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Funeral service was Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Bill Arnold officiating.
Pallbearers were Charles Adair, Allen Crawford, Charles Ezell, Brad Crawford, Chris McNew and Glen Curtis.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Charles Klepper, Amanda Chitsey, Hillcrest Home staff and the Wren Street neighbors.
Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Home, 1111 Maplewood Road, Harrison, AR 72601.

Jenny, we are all thinking of you and your family during this time. We pray for comfort during this difficult time.

Wish I could be there with you Leah, Jim, Mary and Jennifer. You will be in my thoughts and prayers and I will be with you in spirit. I will forever love Aunt Marcelle. She was a precious gift to all of us who were blessed to have her in our lives. She made our world a better place to be in.
I'd like to think that she has been welcomed home by all those other wonderful people we have loved and lost. They all loved her as we do, so I know they were there to welcome her home.
Thank you Aunt Marcelle for the wonderful memories and the special love you gave to all of us. You were one of a kind and ever so special!!!!!!!! Our love goes with you. Give Robert and hug for me!
