Mary Madeline Oquist, 75, of Knoxville, died at her home Friday, August 19, 2011. Born in Avoca, MN to Lawrence and Madeline Gibson Andert on March 1, 1936. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother, an active member of River Valley Grace Lutheran Church, LWML, Prayer Team, and Quilting Guild.
Survivors include four sons: Andrew "Pete" (Amber) Oquist, Jr. of Subiaco, AR; John (Christy) Oquist of Clarksville, AR; Gordon Oquist, Sr. of Ogema, MN; Dean (Linda) Oquist of Mora, MN; five daughters: Sarah Oquist (Rodney) McFadden of Minneapolis, MN; Patricia Ronning of Minneapolis, MN; Jean (Mike)Engstrom of Clear Lake, MN; Sue (Dean)Weidendorf of Braham, MN; Diane Oquist of Tulsa, OK; 23 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Lawrence J. (Judy)Andert of Ozark, AR; John A. (Paula) Andert of Idaho Falls, ID, and one sister: Kathleen Beard of Hudson, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband, Andrew M. Oquist, Sr.,
Active/Honorary Pallbearers are: Nicholas Engstrom, Eric Engstrom, Jeremy McCain, Gene Weidendorf, Les Weidendorf, Andy Weidendorf, Tim Oquist, Mike Stewart, Travis Stewart, Jeb Stewart, Gordon Oquist, Jr., and Cory Oquist. Funeral Services will be 3:00 P.M., Monday, August 22, 2011 at The River Valley Grace Lutheran Church, Lamar, AR. Burial will follow at the Saint Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Lutherville, AR with Reverend Herb Swanson presiding. Visitation is from 5 7 p.m. Sunday at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel.
