Elbert E. "Gene" Trickey died June 11, 2011. He was born in Lonoke County, Arkansas on June 23, 1925 to W. W. Trickey and Mattie Harmon Trickey. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Marvin and Vance; sister Ruth Bradford; and son, Don.
Gene worked in the transportation industry. Along with two friends, he founded Twin City Trailer Sales and Service in 1977. He eventually bought out his friends and continued to operate Twin City Trailer until his retirement in 1997.
Gene was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, Little Rock and was a World War II Veteran having served in the South Pacific.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dorothy Grant Trickey; son, Cary Grant of Cabot; and daughter, Pam Alston of Little Rock; grandsons, Jason Robles (Andrea) of Boulder, Colorado, Ryan Beyersdorff (Teresa) of Greenville, Ohio; granddaughters, Katie Grant of Little Rock and Natalie Grant of Cabot; grandson, Bart Trickey and granddaughter, Michelle Rector of Conway; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Southern Trace Healthcare in Bryant and to Arkansas Hospice.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501)224-8300.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 5700 Cantrell Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72207; Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116; or to a charity of choice.

Such a sweet man was Uncle Gene! He will certainly be missed but was so obviously blessed by the care & love of Dorothy. May our loving God move us swiftly to the cherished memories of Gene's joy and the blessings of knowing he is at peace...until we meet again.
