David Gerald Chipman, 76, of Brookland passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born November 13, 1934 at Senath, MO. Mr. Chipman was a retired instructor for the Delta School in Marked Tree. He loved working on cars and loved to garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W.W. and Ada Hill Chipman; and a son, David Scott Chipman.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Catherine (Vaughn) Chipman; a daughter, Susan Bridger and husband Glenn; and a grandson, Kyle Scott Bridger, all of Brookland.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Thursday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
Services will be 10 am Friday at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Paul White officiating. Burial will follow at Browns Chapel Cemetery.
Bill Tabor, Jerry Tabor, David Ashlock, Houston Jones, Carlon Chipman and Kim Chipman will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, 1148 E. Matthews, Jonesboro, AR 72401.

I was blessed to spend some time with David before he passed, and I looked to him for advice on things in life. There is one thing David told me that I will never forget he siad " I like to treat other people just a little better than how I want to be treated" The people what knew him were better people for knowing him, I know I am .
