Joe McHone, age 79, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was born March 31, 1931 in New Albany, Indiana to Richard and Mildred (Moss) McHone.
Mr. McHone married Dorene Berry in New Albany, Indiana in 1955. He worked for AT&T for 35 years. He served in the United States Army in Germany for two years during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed traveling and was able to see 49 states and 8 countries in his travels. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church .
Mr. McHone is survived by his: wife Dorene of Mountain Home, a son: James Daniel McHone and wife Lori of Memphis, Tennessee, a daughter: Valarie Ann Thomas of Cape Carl, Florida, a sister: Phyllis Tuttle of Owenboro, Kentucky, a brother: Richard McHone of Jeffersonville, Indiana, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Johnson and Pastor Jonathan Belew officiating. A visitation will be Tuesday from Noon 9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens.
