Monteen D. Megee Conn, 86 of Illinois, formerly of Tamarac, FL, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010. Born in Damascus, AR on August 16, 1924, she was a daughter to the late Clayton and Lillie May ( Blackwell ) Hutchins. Mrs. Conn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who is remembered as being a people person. She was a 1942 graduate of Southside High School and had worked as a dental assistant. Monteen retired from Sears after twenty years of service and had been a hairdresser in the Florida retirement community where she lived. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, attended South Side Baptist Church in Damascus, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Monteen was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmie Sam Megee, her second husband William Conn; a son James Michael Megee; daughter Sandra (Megee) Hellstrom and a brother Odean Hutchins.

Survivors include her grandchildren; Phillip Hellstrom and Andrea Goldstein both of Illinois and Heather McReynolds of Indiana and her sister Addivine "Mimi" Hutchins Nusz of Arizona.

Services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with Bro. Michael Collier officiating. Interment will follow at Blackwell Cemetery in Bee Branch.
