Zelma Edith Jump Brown, age 85, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord, Monday, December 6, 2010. Lovingly called "Nanny" by her family, she was born April 27, 1925, in Little Rock, a daughter of the late William Andrew Cook and Jessie Larimore Cook. She became a Christian at age 14, graduated from Robinson High School in 1944, and one week later married William Dewey Jump, Jr. They enjoyed 41 years together raising two children and enjoyed being active in church and family life. He passed away in 1985.

In 1988 she moved to Ferndale and joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. There she met and married William C. "Dub" Brown. They were married 17 years. He passed away in 2010.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Raymond, Alfred and Chris Cook and sisters, Beulah Pedigo and Mary Lancaster; granddaughter, Kyla Ann Jump, and stepdaughter, Cheryl Hodges.

She is survived by a daughter, Jane Ann Williams (Bill); a son, Harold Lynn Jump (Penny); stepdaughter, Charlotte McDaniel; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Her greatest joy was caring for and serving others.

The family will receive friends at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501)224-8300 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 8.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home followed by interment at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 27025 Kanis Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72223.

Charlotte and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I know that you know that Ms. Edith is in a much better place now, but that doesn't help the pain of losing her and your Dad this year. We are very selfish and wish we could keep people forever but we can't. We can just cherish the memories of the ones we have lost and love the ones we still have as much as possible. You are and your family are in my prayers. I love you, Tiff
