Vernon L. "Ned" Harris,Sr, was born July 9,1924 in Johnson County, Arkansas. He was the son of Robert Wiley and Bessie Agness Nelson Harris. He died October 9, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center, Clarksville, Arkansas, at the age of 86. He was of the Baptist faith, Army Veteran, and a retired carpenter. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lera Cowell.
He leaves behind his wife, Reba Harris of Hartman, Arkansas; two daughters, Elizabeth Anglin and husband, Lee and Donna Hern and husband, Donnie, Sr both of Hartman, Arkansas; one son, Vernon Harris,Jr and wife, Belinda of Hartman, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Jimmy Cowell of Lamar, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, Johnny Anglin and wife, Dawn, Wayne Anglin and wife, Dana, Marsha Moore, Donnie Hern,Jr, Amanda Hern, Cory Hern and wife, Myriah, Shannon Stone and husband, Greg, Brian Harris, Kayla Harris; seventeen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8p.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10a.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Kendall Cemetery, Hartman, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Anglin, Wayne Anglin, Donnie Hern,Jr, Cory Hern, Brian Harris, Jordon Hignite.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Logan Ralph, Amos Reeves, Fred James.
Arrangements are under the care of Roller-Cox Funeral Home, Clarksville, Arkansas.

I have a lot of great memories of Ned, Dad, and Tom. I am sure Dad met him and is showing him all the good spots to hunt and fish.

Our family was heartbroken, when we heard the sad news of Neds' passing. We Loved him Dearly and Everybody that knew him, loved him too. There are so many wonderful Memories of Ned. Keep them close and cherish them forever! He is Not Gone! He is IN each of You! One way or another. We will Pray that solace comes softly and quickly for the family members left behind.

Words alone cannot express how I felt about Ned. He was truly a one-of-a-kind person. I enjoyed the fishing and hunting trips, the visits and serving under him for years on the fire department. He was truly a servant of the community and I will miss him forever. To the family, my deepest condolences to you on your loss...there will never be another like Ned.
