Reba I. Corder, 84, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Monday, December 28, 2009 in Helena. Mrs. Corder was born January 8, 1925 in Lauderdale County, Tennessee to the late Elmer F. Thornton and the late Lillian I. Reeves Thornton. She was a member of West Helena Baptist Church and assisted her husband for many years in their local business, Turks Auto & Crane Service.
She is survived by three sons, William S. "Bill" Corder, Jr. and wife, Betty, of Mountain View, Arkansas, Mark Richard Corder of Lexa, Arkansas and Patrick Wayne "Patty Bo" Corder and wife, Sue, of West Helena, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Kelby Corder, Ryan Corder and wife, Mary, Lance Corder, Aston Corder, Shelbi Corder and Jonathan Corder; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, "Turk" Corder; her parents; a brother, Larry Thornton; and two sisters, Doris Materna and Betty Jobe.
Services for Reba Corder will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2009 at West Helena Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Reverend Dusty Rhodes will officiate.
Pallbearers are Lynn Alford, Dan Casteel, Bo Corder, Vernon Isabel, Dan Taylor and Johnny Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are David Aitken, Steve Darnall, Jimmy Maples, Bruce Ramey, Lannie Travis, Larry Vinson, members of Jake Lake Hunting Club and the Jake Lederman family.
Memorials may be made to West Helena Baptist Church, 702 Plaza Street, West Helena, Arkansas 72390.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.

What precious memories I have of Ms. Reba! She had an infectious personality that lighten everyone's load. She truly brought a bit of heaven to earth and now I know she is enjoying her real home! And I bet she and my mom are playing catch up! :) Blessings and prayers sent to you and your families!

Bill, Mark and Pat, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. I just happened accross it today and was shocked to hear that Turk was also gone. I loved them both. I remember all the good times we shared down at Connell's Point in my "other " life. All the memories of duck hunting and visiting often.

Thinking of you all at this sad time. I have many fond memories of traveling to Memphis to Cook Convention Center and enjoying all the southern gospel music we heard there. My mom, Mary Ann and others loaded up & Mrs. Reba drove us up the highway. What a great time we had & I'll always remember her generosity in sharing that time with us.
