March 11, 1917 - December 11, 2004

Mr. Walter J. Anders, 87, of Mountain Home, passed away December 11, 2004, at the Gassville Nursing Center. Services will be held Monday at 3:00 P. M. with visitation from 1:30 2:30 P.M. Monday, all in the Roller Funeral Home chapel.

Mr. Anders was born March 11, 1917, to Frank O'Connor Anders and Nellie Maude Rowland in Macon Lake, Arkansas. He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II and married Mary Alice Anders on December 31, 1976 in Blytheville, Arkansas. After Walter's retirement from AP&L, they moved to Mountain Home in 1979.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice, of the home, daughter, Sandra (Sterling) Cook of Mountain Home, a grandson, Les Cook of Mountain Home, a granddaughter, Amy (Richard) Hartness, three great-grandsons, Adam, Ryan, and Nathan Hartness, one brother-in-law, William O. McCoy, one nephew, Mike (Sharon) McCoy, and one niece, Marsha (Dan) Sebesta.

The family requests memorials in Walter's memory be made to the church of your choice.

I worked with Walter at Ark-Mo General Office for several years , until his retirement. I was saddened to hear of his illness and of his death.
