Wayne R. Dummer, age 75, of Diamond City, Arkansas, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at his home. He was born November 6, 1933, in Bonesteel, South Dakota, the son of Clarence V. and Elsie (Hlousek) Dummer. Mr. Dummer was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Russell Dummer; his brother, Bob Dummer; his grandson, Joshua Hancock; and his beloved pet, Snowflake.
Wayne was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lead Hill, Arkansas. He was a Corporal in the U. S. Army having served from 1952 to 1954. He had been a prior resident of Woodland Park, Colorado. Wayne was a senior industrial engineer for Western Forge in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He was a member of the American Legion Post 340.
Wayne R. Dummer is survived by his wife, Nancy A. (Truelove) Dummer; his sons and daughter-in-law, Jerry W. and Dawn Dummer and Thomas J. Dummer, all of Camas, Washington; his step-son, Charles L. Wheeler, of Hollister, Missouri; his daughters and son-in-law, Laurie A. and Gary Beglau of Lexington, Kentucky and Renee Hancock of Las Vegas, Nevada; and his step-daughter and her husband, Mary Helen and Doug McCarty, of Quapaw, Oklahoma.
Wayne is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlene and Don Streit and Dorothy and Elwyn Degner; his brothers and sister-in-law, B. Wade and Sandy Dummer and Mike Dummer, all of Woodland Park, Colorado; nineteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two on the way. He will be missed by other family and many friends.
Bro. Glen Crenshaw and Bro. Rodney Fry officiated the funeral service.
Pallbearers were Mr. Dummer's grandsons, Geoff Beglau, Adam Dowd, Gavin McCarty and Reece McCarty, grandson-in-law, Carlos McQuary, and good friend, Bo Norman.
Honorary pallbearers were John Taylor, Del Gimenez, David Houck, Charlie Sawyer, Dick Kennedy, Embry Raley, Lynn Farel and Karl Hoekman.
